4 Spooky Treats to DIY This Halloween | Blogtober 2022

It’s no secret that spooky season is now here! Friends, family, and neighbors are more than likely already have a decorated porch and front yard (except if you live next to me; sorry). The weather is crisp and reminding us exactly what season it is–at least here on the east coast anyway).

With the help of other fellow bloggers (and Pinterest) i was able to find these 5 treats that are NON candy related but still cute to decorate and have for the kids. Whether it is for halloween parties at school or at the house, these are great to make with our kids to get them involved or just to have at events this spooky year.

You can find the credit to all idea’s I’ve come across on this post. Feel free to check out their posts as well for MORE treats this spooky season.

1. Fruit Snacks

2. Marshmallow Lollipop

These are SUPER cute and so easy to make as well. This is something i’ve enjoyed making on my own last year and the year before.

  • Just take some marshmallows dip it in some [melted] chocolate of your choice.
  • then add some flavor (or spice as they now call it) with decorations. GO WILD with them– you know add some sprinkles to one, get different colors of sprinkles in there. Put some candy eyes, etc.. I know this was a non candy but like — is it really a lie if its not ALL candy? :p

You may find the complete instructions in this pin here. I’ve done this previously before myself (one of my favorite treats to make) but I didn’t ever time how long to let the chocolate melt or harden, therefore I can’t 100% give direct instructions. But our fellow blogger can!

The best part about this treat is it can be done in any way that you would like. You can be cute as heck and make small marshmallows as well as using the jumbo ones like Amy does in her treats to the left.

The hidden message has been found (;! The word is: spooky treats.

3. Pretzel Web w/ Chocolate

This one is super salty, sweet, savory and crunchy all at the same time. Okay i know i said this a lot already but this one is super easy to do — don’t you agree?!

Photo reference credit goes to: Whitegunpowder

  •  You want to take pretzel sticks, break them to be small to your liking anyway. Take the chocolate to connect them together. A dab on the bottom of each stick to the middle of each other.
  • Then creating the web with chocolate.

Get creative. It’s halloween after all. You can use regular dark chocolate, white chocolate or use orange color as well. You can attach some spider candies to it or keep it simple with just the chocolate.

4. Graveyard/Tombstone Rice Krispies

I don’t have a photo for reference however, you could easily take some rice krispie and make two different treats.

  • Using chocolate, cover the entire rice crispy treat to make ‘mud’ for the graveyard.
  • Using a smaller piece of rice krispie treat you can cover it in grey chocolate and then black to write RIP on it, this creates the small tombstone for the grave yard. add some blood maybe a small worm.

Now to make the entire Krispy to be a tombstone you can just cover it all in grey chocolate, write RIP big on the treat and splatter blood OR write a name and date for the effect. I think i’ll be doing this one in the next week or so, to reference a picture and give instructions. Come back or be prepared to see a new post dedicated to me making the treats.

There you have it ya’ll. If you do any of these treats this year i would LOVE to see what you’ve come up with. Email photos to me at: contact@briannaanjelique.com. Who knows you may get featured in my next BLOGTober post.
