20 Questions to Ask Your Next Social Media Manager

 

If 2022 has taught us entrepreneurs anything it is that sometimes delegating tasks to someone or a team is very much needed. The most asked question I’ve seen on my news feed specifically facebook happened to be looking for Virtual assistant’s and Social media managers.

Today, I’d like to help you with finding the right social media manager for your business. It is very important to ask questions that YOU find important for the sake of trusting in one person to handle all of your brands social media presence.

 

  • What experience do you have with social media marketing?
  • What social media platforms do you have experience managing content for?
  • How do you decide when to post?
  • How do you measure the success of your campaigns?
  • What strategies do you use to build a successful social media presence?
  • How do you stay up to date with the latest trends in social media marketing?
  • How do you ensure the content you create is engaging, unique, and relevant?
  • How do you ensure your campaigns comply with relevant regulations?
  • Tell me about a time you had to handle a social media crisis.
  • What tools do you use to manage and track your social media campaigns?
  • How do you identify and manage potential risks associated with social media marketing?
  • What techniques do you use to build relationships with customers on social media?
  • How do you use A/B testing to optimize your social media campaigns?
  • How do you use social media to increase brand awareness?
  • How do you respond to negative comments and reviews on social media?
  • How do you use influencer marketing to promote your campaigns?

BONUS QUESTIONS:

This isn’t a must but I like to ask personal/general questions. Meaning, tell me about yourself, how did you get started, what are your hobbies and interests, etc.. These questions allow me to get to know how well this potential team member is with small talk or overall 1:1 conversations. It’ll give me a sense of their personality as well.

I personally do NOT like to work with someone who i cannot connect with and have conversations with. Yes, we are here to work and do business but it isn’t ever JUST business with me. This all comes down to how you’d like to work with others and the way you’d like to go about your brand or business.

You may not need to ask all of these questions, you may only need a few of these but remember that you should be asking important questions to fit the role for YOUR brand.

Always and I mean, ALWAYS ask questions. Even if you may know the answer, it’s best to have it come from the person you’re hiring mouth (or email) to avoid any assumptions and expectations. I truly hope that these questions help you on your journey to find the perfect social media manager.
